Nicole Businelli
Nicole Businelli is an Energy Industry Analyst in the Division of Electric Power Regulation-East, within the Office of Energy Market Regulation at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). In this role, she advises senior staff and the Commission on cases related to the economic regulation of the electric utility industry in the eastern United States. She works on matters involving electric energy, capacity, and ancillary service markets, generator interconnection, transmission planning and cost allocation, and electric utilities’ transmission service rates. She has supported major rulemakings such as Order Nos. 841 and 2222 and related compliance proceedings. Before coming to FERC in January 2018, she worked in federal consulting, supporting government clients such as the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense on energy-related initiatives. Nicole received her B.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and certificates in Sustainable Energy and Environmental Studies, from Princeton University in 2013.
