Uncommon Ground

Shaping the Sustainable Future

February 3, 2024

Our sixth annual energy conference in Spring 2024 titled “Uncommon Ground: Shaping the Sustainable Future” focused on understanding and evaluating the future of the energy industry. It brought together various fields of the energy community including industry professionals, researchers, academics, investors, and students. With the 2022 IPCC report on current climate trajectories and the world’s growing concern over the future of energy, this conference emphasized how industry, government, and academia can change the energy landscape to reach net-zero emissions.

Princeton Energy Conference featured panels on a wide variety of topics including financing the energy transition, the future of oil and gas, and ensuring an equitable transition. The Keynotes speakers were Phil Giudice, who served as the Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy during the start of the Biden-Harris administration, and Jesse Jenkins, who leads the ZERO lab at Princeton which focuses on improving and applying optimization-based energy system models to optimize low-carbon energy technologies.
