Charlie Silio

Partner and Chief Financial Officer, Glidepath Ventures

Charlie Silio is a Partner and the Chief Financial Officer of Glidepath Ventures, a leading solar energy developer with over 3GW of community and utility-scale solar and solar + storage projects under development in North America.

Charlie previously served as VP – Strategy, Corporate Development, and Marketing for Agility Fuel Solutions, the leading global manufacturer of clean fuel solutions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

Prior to joining Agility in 2013, Charlie was a Principal at Element Partners, a buyout and growth equity firm with approximately $870 million under management and a focus on energy and industrial technology businesses.  His investments included Agility, where he served on the board of directors and audit committee, and TPI (Nasdaq: TPIC), a leading manufacturer of wind turbine blades and composite vehicle structures.

Prior to joining Element he worked for four years with D. E. Shaw & Co. in New York and London in credit opportunities, special situations, and private equity, and before that was an Associate with GTCR, where he made control private equity investments in transaction processing, business services, and energy companies.  He began his career as a technology and telecom investment banker at Lazard.

Charlie holds an MBA with honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, an MSc. with distinction in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics, and a BSE in Civil Engineering and Operations Research with high honors from Princeton University.  He is a CPA, a CFA charterholder, and a PMI Project Management Professional.

He has served as an elected member of the Borough Council of Narberth, Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife Emily and their three children, and is a member of the Atlantic Council’s Emerging Leaders in Energy and Environmental Policy network.
